The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other non-heterosexual or non-cisgender (LGBTQ+) community is prevalent within sports across the world. There have been several notable openly LGBTQ+ athletes, including Jason Collins, John Curry, Orlando Cruz, and Billie Jean King.
