Hyperuniform materials are characterized by an anomalous suppression of density fluctuations at large scales. More precisely, the vanishing of density fluctuations in the long-wavelength limit (like for crystals) distinguishes hyperuniform systems from typical gases, liquids, or amorphous solids.
