International sanctions during apartheid

As a response to South Africa's apartheid policies, the international community adopted economic sanctions as a form of condemnation and pressure. India became the first country to sever trade relations with South Africa for its apartheid policies in 1946 when Jawaharlal Nehru's interim government did so.
