Islam is a minority faith followed by 2.1% of the population of Wales, making it the second most practiced religion in the country after Christianity. Wales became home to the oldest Muslim communities in the British Isles during the early nineteenth century, with Muslim seafarers establishing their homes in the country's ports during the Industrial Revolution in Wales.
