Islam in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Islam is a minority religion within the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the large majority of the population is affiliated with various Christian denominations and sects. It was first introduced to the Congo Basin from the East African coast during the 19th century and remains largely concentrated in parts of Eastern Congo, notably in Maniema Province.
