Izzat (Bengali: ইজ্জত; Hindi: इज़्ज़त; Urdu: عزت, romanized: 'izzat, lit. 'honour') is a concept of honour, dignity, and social respect that is prevalent in much of North India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It applies universally across religions, communities, and genders.
