History of Japan–Korea relations

The history of relations between Japan and Korea has included periods of cultural exchange, trade, political cooperation, and military conflict over at least 2000 years. Korea served as an important channel for the transmission of continental Asian culture, technology, religion, and political ideas to Japan.
