Karni Mata

Karni Mata (Hindi: करणी माता) was a 14th–16th century warrior-sage and ascetic from western Rajasthan, revered as the tutelary deity of the Rajputs and Charans of northwestern India. Locally known by names such as Bhagwati, Mehai, Jagadamba, and Kiniyani, She is worshipped as the goddess of power and victory, and is regarded in bardic and local traditions as an incarnation of Hinglaj Mata or Durga.
