She is best known for originating the role of Dina in the 2017 Broadway musical The Band's Visit, which earned her the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, along with the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program.
