Khajuraho

Khajuraho () is a city, near Chhatarpur in Chhatarpur district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, which was the early as well as religious capital of Chandel Empire of Jejakabhukti. Chandela emperors established this city and named it Kharjuravahaka, derived from the Sanskrit word kharjur, meaning "date palm".
