Kingdom of Aowin
Aowin (also known as Ebrosa, and today identified with the Agni of Côte d’Ivoire) was one of the earliest and most powerful Akan states, rivaling Denkyira and Akwamu in regional dominance. Emerging as a gold-rich kingdom in the southwestern forests of present-day Ghana, Aowin commanded strategic trade routes connecting the inland Savannah to coastal markets.
