The Klingalese (Malay: Orang Keling; Dutch: Klingalezen or Kodja) referred to an ethnic group in at least Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), Straits Settlements and British India, originating from the Coromandel Coast, Kalinga and the Malabar region. They were predominantly Shiite Muslims and traders.
