Korean DMZ Conflict

The Korean DMZ Conflict, also known as the Second Korean War, was a series of armed clashes between North Korea and South Korea, supported by the United States, along the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between 1966 and 1969. The conflict grew out of a deliberate North Korean strategy, announced by Kim Il Sung in October 1966, to use irregular warfare and armed provocations to destabilize South Korea, drive a wedge between Seoul and Washington, and eventually force reunification under North Korean control.
