Lalpa Kohhran Thar

Lalpa Kohhran Thar (lit. 'The Lord's New Church') is a millennialist new religious movement centred in Mizoram, India. It originated in 1942 as a dissenting breakaway from the Presbyterian Church in Mizoram and developed into a syncretic community combining millennialist readings of the Bible with elements of pre-Christian Mizo culture, including the ritual use of the khuang drum and Mizo rice wine, as well as the practice of polygamy.
