Land reform in North Vietnam
Land reform in North Vietnam (Vietnamese: Cải cách ruộng đất tại miền Bắc Việt Nam, IPA: [kâj.kǎʲk ʐuə̂ˀŋ.ɗʌ̌k tâˀj miə̀n.ɓɐ̌k viə̂ˀt.nām]) was a major campaign by the communist Democratic Republic of Vietnam between 1953 and 1956, particularly after the 1954 Geneva Conference, when French Indochina was dismantled and North Vietnam was recognized as a sovereign state. The goal was to take land from landlords and give it to poor farmers.
