List of British police officers killed in the line of duty

This list includes only those serving police officers who were killed as a direct result of a crime or while attempting to respond to, prevent, stop or solve a specific criminal act or incident. The list omits war-time deaths by enemy fire, such as the many police officers killed by air raids during the Second World War including 100 killed in the Metropolitan Police area.
