No physical wooden spoon award exists nor is such an award officially sanctioned by the SANFL. == Competitions == South Australian Football Association (1877) was dissolved in May 1888 after the remaining three Clubs Norwood, Hotham (North Adelaide 1888) and Gawler applied and joined the South Australian United Football Association newly formed by Adelaide, Port Adelaide and South Adelaide who had all resigned from the South Australian Football Association.
