List of birds of New South Wales

New South Wales is a state in Australia of great biodiversity, with 622 species of bird recorded. This list is based on the 1996 classification by Charles Sibley and Burt Monroe (though there has been a recent (2008) extensive revision of Australian birds by Leslie Christidis and Walter E. Boles), which has resulted in some lumping and splitting.
