List of festivals in the Philippines

The origin of most early Philippine festivals, locally known as fiestas (Filipino: pista or kapistahan), is rooted in Christianity during the Spanish colonial period. Many barrios and towns were assigned patron saints, and celebrations were encouraged to coincide with Christian holy days.
