List of governors of Rio de Janeiro

This is a list of governadores (Portuguese "governors"), interventores ("inspectors") and presidents of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Throughout its history, Rio de Janeiro has been governed by governor-generals, viceroys, ministers of the Empire, provincial presidents, presidents, and mayors, with its current designation "governor" coming with the Brazilian Constitution of 1946.
