List of tallest buildings in the Washington metropolitan area

The Washington metropolitan area, with a population of 6.4 million, is centered on Washington D.C., the capital of the United States. The Height of Buildings Act of 1899 and 1901 limits building heights in Washington D.C. to a maximum of 130 feet (40 m) in most cases.
