The Lovestoneites were a small faction of communists in the United States during the 1930s which were led by Jay Lovestone, the former General Secretary of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The organization emerged from a power struggle and ideological disagreements within the CPUSA in 1929, particularly Lovestone’s more moderate stance in contrast to hardline Stalinism.
