Lviv during the Middle Ages

In the Middle Ages, Lviv was an important economic, cultural and political center of Ruthenia. Its history covers the period from the foundation of the fortress in the mid-13th century to the second half of the 16th century, when the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth was formed and the Jagiellonian dynasty was interrupted.
