Major Crimes Act

The Major Crimes Act of 1885 or (18 U.S.C. § 1153), enacted as section 9 of the Indian Appropriations Act, 1886, is a law passed by the United States Congress. The law places certain crimes under federal jurisdiction if they are committed by a Native American in Native territory.
