Masih (title)
al-Masīḥ (Arabic: المسيح) is an Arabic rendition of the Hebrew title Māshīaḥ (מָשִׁיחַ, 'Messiah') or the Greek title Khristós (Χριστός, 'Christ'), meaning "the anointed one". It is derived from the Arabic root msḥ, meaning 'to rub, wipe, anoint'.
