Menninkäinen

In Finnish mythology and lore, the menninkäinen (pronounced [ˈmenːiŋkæi̯nen]) were originally described as spirits that lived in isolated places and were considered generally friendly to humans. Over time the mythology of the term evolved with the menninkäinen described as goblin-like creatures.
