Mesonet

In meteorology and climatology, a mesonet, portmanteau of mesoscale network, is a network of automated weather and environmental monitoring stations, designed to observe mesoscale meteorological phenomena and microclimates. Dry lines, squall lines, and sea breezes are examples of phenomena observed by mesonets.
