Military Intelligence Directorate (Israel)
The Military Intelligence Directorate (Hebrew: אגף המודיעין, romanized: Agaf ha-Modi'in, lit. 'Intelligence Division'), often abbreviated to Aman (אמ״ן), is the central, overarching military intelligence body of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Aman was created in 1950, when the Intelligence Department was spun off from the IDF's General Staff.
