Mycelium-based materials

Since they were first developed, mycelium‑based materials, often called mycelium composites, have been used in many different areas, from small experimental projects to large industrial production. Mycelium, the root-like structure that comprises the main vegetative growth of fungi, has been identified as an ecologically friendly stand-alone / composite substitute for many materials throughout different industries, including packaging, design, building, fashion and cosmetics applications.
