National Civilian Community Corps

The National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), or AmeriCorps NCCC, is an AmeriCorps program that engages young adults ages 18 to 24 in short-term community service projects across the United States. Founded in 1993, the mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is "to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service." Each year, approximately 2,200 NCCC members complete over 1.2 million hours of service across hundreds of projects in the areas of disaster response, infrastructure improvement, environmental conservation, energy conservation, and urban and rural development.
