Natural Hazards Commission

The Natural Hazards Commission – Toka Tū Ake is a New Zealand Crown entity that invests in natural disaster research and education and provides natural disaster insurance to residential property owners. It is a continuation of the Earthquake and War Damage Commission, set up in 1945 and known as the Earthquake Commission (EQC; Māori: Kōmihana Rūwhenua) from 1993 until 2024.
