Neuropathic pain

Neuropathic pain is pain caused by a lesion or disease of the somatosensory nervous system. Neuropathic pain may be associated with abnormal sensations called dysesthesia (including paresthesia and hypoesthesia) from normally non-painful stimuli (allodynia).
