New York City Comptroller
The Office of Comptroller of New York City, a position established in 1801, is the chief financial officer and chief auditor of the city of New York and its agencies. Informally known as "the city's accountant", the New York Times has called the comptroller "one of the most important and least recognized jobs in the city".
