Ninjutsu
Ninjutsu (忍術; [ɲiꜜɲ.dʑɯ.tsɯ]), shinobi no jutsu (忍びの術; [ɕi.no.bʲi no dʑɯ.tsɯꜜ]) and ninpō (忍法; [ɲiꜜm.poː]) are terms for the techniques and skills used by ninja, who were covert operatives, irregular warfare specialists and intelligence gatherers in pre-modern Japan. Some of these techniques are recorded in ninja scrolls, several of which have been published and translated.
