North Korean abductions of South Koreans

An estimated 84,532 South Koreans were taken to North Korea during the Korean War. In addition, South Korean statistics estimate that, since the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953, about 3,800 people have been abducted by North Korea, the vast majority in the late 1970s, with 489 of them reportedly still detained as of 2006.
