Offshore wind power in the United States is in the early stages of development and shifting public opinion. In 2022, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) estimated that the country has a "technical" resource potential of 1,476 GW (fixed-bottom) and 2,773 GW (floating) offshore wind power.
