The following outline is provided as an overview of and topical guide to São Tomé and Príncipe: São Tomé and Príncipe – island nation located in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Africa. The republic comprises two main islands: São Tomé Island and Príncipe Island, located about 140 kilometres (87 mi) apart and about 250 kilometres (160 mi) and 225 kilometres (140 mi), respectively, off the northwestern coast of Gabon.
