In mathematics, parabolic cylindrical coordinates are a three-dimensional orthogonal coordinate system that results from projecting the two-dimensional parabolic coordinate system in the perpendicular z {\displaystyle z} -direction. Hence, the coordinate surfaces are confocal parabolic cylinders.
