Photodynamic therapy

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a form of phototherapy involving light and a photosensitizing chemical substance used in conjunction with molecular oxygen to elicit cell death (phototoxicity). PDT is used in treating acne, wet age-related macular degeneration, psoriasis, and herpes.
