Pre-Islamic Arabic poetry

Pre-Islamic Arabic poetry, known in Arabic literature as al-shi'r al-Jahili ("poetry from the Jahiliyyah", i.e. from the pre-Islamic period), was composed in Arabia roughly between 540 and 620 AD, the period of late antique Arabia.
