President pro tempore of the Kentucky Senate

President Pro Tempore of the Kentucky Senate is a post within the Kentucky Senate in the US. Historically, it was the title of highest-ranking member of the Kentucky Senate prior to enactment of a 1992 amendment to the Constitution of Kentucky. Prior to the 1992 amendment of Section 83 of the Constitution of Kentucky the Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky was the Senate's presiding officer, but was rarely present.
