Presidential transition of George H. W. Bush

The presidential transition of George H. W. As of 2024–25, this was the last instance of a "friendly takeover", in which the outgoing president and the president-elect were of the same political party, something that happened only once before—the 1928–29 presidential transition of Herbert Hoover—and the last transition of an incumbent vice president.
