Provincial Reconnaissance Unit

The Provincial Reconnaissance Units (PRUs) (Vietnamese: Thám sát Tỉnh) were South Vietnamese special paramilitary units, led by U.S. military and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) personnel. The PRU was tasked with finding and neutralizing Vietcong (VC) cadre and their political leadership under the Phoenix Program during the Vietnam War.
