Rakhi system

The Rakhi system (Punjabi: ਰੱਖਿਆ; rakhi'a, rakhi'ā, rakhiaa; meaning "security") was a tributary protectorate scheme practiced by the Dal Khalsa of the Sikh Confederacy in the 18th century. It was alternatively called the Jamadari system.
