Regents examinations
Regents examinations are a series of statewide, end-of-course standardized tests administered by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) under the authority of the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. New York high school students have historically been required to pass five of these exams (in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies) to earn a Regents Diploma, the standard credential for high school graduation in the state.
