Results of the 2011 United Kingdom Alternative Vote referendum

On 5 May 2011, the United Kingdom held a referendum on whether to change the system for electing members to the House of Commons, the lower house of the national Parliament at Westminster. In the event of a "Yes" vote, future general elections would use the "alternative vote"; in the event of a "No" vote, the existing first-past-the-post system would remain in place.
