Samkhya or Sankhya (; Sanskrit: सांख्य, romanized: Sāṅkhya) is a dualistic orthodox school of Hindu philosophy. It views reality as composed of two independent principles, Puruṣa ('consciousness' or spirit) and Prakṛti (nature or matter, including the human mind and emotions).
