Chasles' theorem (kinematics)
In kinematics, Chasles' theorem, or Mozzi–Chasles' theorem, says that the most general rigid body displacement can be produced by a screw displacement or screw motion. A direct Euclidean isometry in three dimensions involves a translation and a rotation.
