Sexual assault of LGBTQ people is a form of violence against people in the LGBTQ community or sexual and gender minorities (SGM). While sexual assault and other forms of interpersonal violence can occur in all forms of relationships, sexual minorities experience it at rates that are equal to or higher than their heterosexual and cisgender counterparts.
