On November 23, 2012, Jordan Davis, an African-American 17-year-old boy, was murdered at a Gate Petroleum gas station in Jacksonville, Florida, United States, by Michael David Dunn, a 45-year-old software developer, following an argument over loud music, played by the occupants of a vehicle in a parking spot, adjacent to the spot Dunn chose to occupy. Dunn was convicted of attempted second-degree murder (3 counts), for firing into the vehicle with 3 other occupants, who were with Davis and one count of firing into an occupied vehicle.
